Family Friendly Three short cuts drop the mileage and the elevation to a family friendly level (see Easy Rider).

Best ridden when dry because the clay sticks to your tires.

Overview

This trail is just over six miles and includes hundreds of flowing turns on groomed singletrack (mowed, sprayed, and leveled on a regular basis by the local club). This is based next to a man-made "mountain" which is ~60 feet tall, and the trail goes up it several times yielding ~250' of elevation per lap.

Need to Know

Don't ride if wet, otherwise you'll be "tarred and feathered" by Mother Nature.

Description

There is the option to cut the mileage significantly and avoid the hill climb by following the Easy Rider shortcut, which is posted on signs. Basically, it includes three right-hand shortcuts (Easy Rider Bypass).

Be sure to check out the leaderboard for the full lap on Strava with fast laps considered to be under 30 minutes.

The most technical features are the switchback climbs and the downhill jump constructed of a recycled wooden front porch from the locals.

History & Background

Significant local efforts were made by Eric Borud, Pat Adrian, Marty Sampson, Mark Anderson and most recently Jonathon Eaton in the way of trail maintenance. Also, huge kudos to Robert Honstrom for mowing and winter grooming with an eye for perfection.

Fields of clover: Tough to tell where the trail is. There was a small wood "bridge" that was completely concealed by the clover. Would love to try the trail again when it's mowed. Awesome that Roseau has a mountain bike trail!

Small roll feature towards the end of the main trail when coming down off the hill. E-Z Ride will skip this feature. Can catch a small amount of air.

The trail hasn't been mowed in a LONG time. Try to follow the clover if you are up for a challenge!

Gave up after 4 miles because I could no longer see the path. Needs a good mowing. Also hot as all get out. 4.2mi — 0h 29m
