Don't ride when wet since the clay will stick to your tires. Needs a day after a summer rain or longer in the spring time.
Overview
This is a great city trail that consists of singletrack that is maintained by the local riders. This is built out in the Roseau flood diversion area on the east side of town.
The trail is dirt singletrack that winds around in the fields of wildflowers and grasslands. Be prepared for lots of turns as this trail is packed into a relatively small area.
The enjoyment of the Easy Rider variation is learning how to navigate beautiful singletrack trail with modest climbs, turns, and off-cambers. Please pay attention for the three right-hand turns (
Easy Rider Bypass) to stay on the Easy Rider course. If you miss the corners, don't panic but be prepared for the longer and more challenging
Mt. Roseau (Borud) trail that goes up and down the big hill multiple times. The three right-hand shortcuts all have signs on them and they all go to the RIGHT.
Enjoy the trail.
Need to Know
There is no early out unless you cut through the tall vegetation. Bug spray may be needed depending on conditions, your speed, and your will to survive.
Description
Park your car on the shoulder of 11th Ave SE near the trail. Water and bathrooms are located in the city park nearby on the west side of 11th Ave SE. The actual singletrack parallels the flood diversion. Start just north of the bridge on 11th Ave.
The trail starts as a flat, straight trail that is easy to follow. Once the trail turns north, get ready to go right at the trail split. Make that right and you are ready to follow Easy Rider or the longer
Mt. Roseau (Borud) trail.
Enjoy the flowing dirt singletrack that is prepped (sprayed and mowed) in the large field of grass, wildflowers, and weeds. Once you start the 3.7-mile loop of Easy Rider or 6.1-mile loop of
Mt. Roseau (Borud) there is not an early out, so plan to spend 20 to 60 minutes out riding depending on your experience and the conditions.
