Description

Park at the trailhead by the entrance to the Desert Canyons neighborhood. The parking area is gravel and looks to still be under development (seems like they are getting ready to add some covered picnic tables).

The trail starts as an easy ride that is fast and flows well with corners that aren't too sharp to cut into your pace. There's some mild hill-climbs/descents during this section. The trail is well-marked and majority dirt.

Ride underneath the highway, and you'll do 2-3 creek crossings. Today was dry, but beware of flowing water during rain or storms. After the underpass, you'll start a steady ascent and see mild slick rock obstacles. There are several great viewpoints as you climb and towards the end of the loop there's a picnic bench to take a break.

You can ride this trail both ways. The loop is a total of 5.6 miles round-trip from the parking area.
