Description

This is where the fun is at for experienced mountain bikers. It's very short and nothing crazy, but it's the cherry on top of a small park trail system. I've only ridden this trail in the clockwise direction. If riding counter-clockwise there is about a 50-foot section of extremely steep trail covered in large, loose rocks. It really does seem much better as a descent, and you'd likely end up hike-a-biking.

In the clockwise direction, the trail it mostly a climb until you reach the power lines which can be seen on the satellite layer. There are two short super steep climbs that really stand out in this direction. Steep enough that its difficult to keep the front tire down while keeping enough weight on the rear for traction to drive up these hills. Luckily, there's nothing technical about either climb. The rest of the climbing is still fairly steep and there are some large rocks to navigate.

From the power lines, the way down is extremely steep! I definitely recommend a dropped seat for the next 1/8 mile or so. It begins with a sharp hairpin that forces you to get out well over the rear tire and shoots you out into a steep straight section of trail that's been cut out from the hillside. There isn't a cliff, but if you fell to the left you'd take quite a tumble.

The next turn is a left which will plunge you into another severely steep downhill through a few tight turns with large, loose rocks. Keep your speed in-check before these loose rocks or you might be careening straight into the trees. Try your best not to skid the rear wheel dragging these rocks downhill with you. The trail soon ends on the Fire Trail where riders can continue descending by turning left onto the chunky road with a collection of blind corners, or turning right for more climbing.

Doable but technical and steeper than it looks. Limited visibility on some of the drops. Moderate consequences for failure.
