This is a pleasant dirt forest road that runs down the Kings River Canyon in the Cedar Grove area. At times, you're only a few feet from the roaring Kings River (during spring runoff season). The dirt ends when the path merges with Cedar Lane, which later becomes North Side Road near the Cedar Grover Visitor Center. You can make this a nice loop with Kings Canyon Scenic Byway (CA 180) on the south side of the river.

Of course, there is no singletrack open to mountain bikes in the National Park.

For a more personal experience, come in April/May after the road is open and before Memorial Day (when the Cedar Grove facilities open and more tourists start to populate the area). You can run the entire CA 180 from Road's End to Boyden Cavern (including this dirt segment), which is almost all downhill. The sound of the roaring river and the peaks around you are awesome. Then you've just got to figure out how to get back out of the valley.
