Family Friendly It's a wide trail with plenty of space for bikes and people.

Closed for winter.

Description

The trail starts off with a small climb to access some of the great views of the Truckee River you'll find along the way. You'll see the train pass by at times and you'll be along the freeway for a lot of the trail. There is a hanging bridge that you'll go through. Heading south (as mapped) involves a lot of climbing, but the return trip is fun and almost all downhill. The trail is mostly dirt with some parts of gravel road.

Started at Floriston. Ride to Verdi is rather easy with beautiful views of the river. One really steep, chunky, loose climb, but not much difficulty 11.3mi

Closure signs came down today--route is officially open. And conditions are perfect: mud is mostly gone, and high water drowns out road noise.
