Don't be a joey, go back to the city.

Description

This is a great, winding trail with rocks, bridges, roots, and flats that becomes the swamp thing halfway through. There are always black bears in this section as this is a highway between the adjacent developments, NJ Wilderness, and Wawayanda Lake. Just yell and scream and leave them be.

The first half mile is basically a beginner trail, but it ramps up towards expert at the end, towards the south end of the lake. There is often mud, and there is a narrow, unstable, rock bridge stream crossing (I fell in twice)—not for the faint of heart. You'll get dirty and potentially take an unplanned dip, like I did.
