Description

This is a very well-developed, wide, asphalt hike and bike trail in the City of Houston's Cullen Park. The east end begins at the intersection of State Highway 6 and Patterson Road and the west end is the Cullen Park North Saums complex.

It passes by the Cullen Park Groeschke complex located south of West Airport. There is a concrete low-water crossing just west of the Groescke complex that is almost always passable.

Two of the major road crossings, SH6 and Barker Cypress, have traffic lights with pedestrian crossing buttons. The trail also crosses Groeschke Road with very poor sight lines with stop signs on the trail; be very careful at this crossing.

There is parking at each end and at the Groeschke complex. Smash and grab vehicle burglaries are common in the area.

Please be very careful crossing Groeschke Road. Motor vehicles do not stop and cannot see trail users due to vegetation.
