Description

While there are many ways to ride this portion of the trail network, this is one option that has always been popular. It bypasses the Whoop-Tees Trail, but it is a decent trail in it's own right.

If starting at marker 13, you'll go southeast into the arroyo and quickly back up. After riding through an open meadow, you'll climb to marker 14. You'll have options here, but continuing south is the preferred option for many.

This short section is steep and features one big switchback before hitting the service road at marker 16. From here, you could take the service road (boring!) or head out of bounds to the west to hit up some nice, unmarked trails. Again, the preferred direction is south.

Now, you'll head up a nice, steady climb. It's fairly easy but features enough terrain diversity to keep it interesting. Once you get to marker 17 on top of the next ridge, you'll have one more decision. From here, many riders head east to ride the Whoop-Tees Trail...but continuing south is also fun as it features what is perhaps the best portion of this trail.

A long, fast downhill takes you down into the next valley. One more winding climb up and you're at the southernmost point of the entire trail network at marker 18. Time to head east.
