Description

This is an ATV road, not a singletrack trail. The Green Mountain "trail" can be done as an out-and-back or point-to-point ride. The route winds along open ridge tops, providing stellar views, and passes through beautiful old growth ponderosa pine stands. In the spring, the wildflowers are beautiful.

The south end of the route is lower elevation and has a bigger, steeper climb heading north. Coming in the opposite direction, the trail has a very steep climb out of the gate with a handful of short climbs and descents. Heading north is certainly a bit more difficult given longer climbs.

The trail is not technical. There are a handful of challenging climbs that require red-lining.

Be careful on descents as there are multiple deep sandy/dusty areas which can be treacherous. There is also lots of loose rock.
