The Black Bear Trail begins at the Camper Services lot and runs to the western edge of Mueller State Park. It intersects many trails along its length, and it can be ridden as an out-and-back or in any number of combination of the marked trails.

From the lot, the trail descends slightly to cross over the Homestead (Trail 12). Next it crosses Turkey Cabin Overlook Trail (MTB portion) (Trail 28), the Osborn Homestead Trail (Trail 27), and Nobel Cabin Trail (Trail 30).

It then descends 300 ft to the western edge of the park. The trail is typically ridden as an out and back.
