Driving directions takes you to the wrong place. Use 11614-, 11632 06 Fire Rd, Truckee, CA 96161 (from Google maps).

The 06 Road is the dirt connection between Truckee and the Lake Tahoe Basin. It connects the Sawtooth Trail parking area to the Fibreboard Freeway - Brockway to Tahoe City. The 06 Road can be used as part of longer epic rides. If you want to ride to ride from Tahoe City to Truckee, this is your route. Or ride from Truckee to the Lake and do a long, beautiful dirt climb then drop to the lake on one of the numerous awesome singletrack options.

You can also access the Northstar trail system, Western States (aka Tevis Trail), and numerous other trails from this fire road.

The 06 Road is a frequently used connector as part of longer epic rides.

It is suitable for mountain bikes and 'cross bikes and crosses the Sawtooth Trail as well. There are great views and only a few steep pitches.

This road is also used for The Great Ski Race in the winter.
