The trailhead for this trail is located through an opening in a fence and onto an easement on Fort Huachuca Property. Ride between the barbed wire fences and cross the Garden Canyon Wash with the aerostat on your left.

After you exit the fenced area, the trail parallels the fence line on USFS property. There are several side trails in this area. Keeping right at all of the junctions you'll enter the Lower Brown Canyon. Or, turn left then right to go to the Brown Canyon Ranch. The views of the Huachuca Mountains and valley are inspiring.
