Description

This is a nice climbing section from Gunn Ranch Road towards Rendezvous Pass. Note that after a about a half a mile after a steeper climb there is a lazy, right-hand fork that you can take up to meet the main trail after it has passed the Gardner Hut and before it gets to Cub Trail. This is called the Tank Trail as it passes a livestock water tank. If you take this trail, you cross a recently rebuilt wooden plank bridge, up a short steep section, and then it's a singletrack on an old road bed.

Follow the trail, and it will eventually intersects with the main RDV Loop. Taking a left takes you to the Gardner Hut. Taking a right takes you to the start of the Cub Trail. Try taking a left, dropping all the way back to Gunn Ranch Road, then taking the road back up to RDV Pass. This puts you back on the main trail just where Cub Trail ends.
