Description

This is a straightforward fire road that's relatively steep at both ends, but the back end (south) is all singletrack and most call this singletrack section "Point Pass." After the initial steep climb, it undulates before descending to its terminus and a junction with Charlies Challenge (Back) and Steves Hill. Some of the hills along the fire road can challenge the endurance of novice riders.

Most prefer to ride the Lakeview singletrack and skip the Fire Road, but don't sell it short. There are some super fast and fun downhills and the Point Pass singletrack at the back is one of the fastest, longest singletrack downhills in all of central/western West Virginia. For five solid minutes you'll be on your Return of the Jedi speeder escaping the storm troopers as you zip downhill on perfectly designed singletrack till you meet up with Lakeview and on to the Charlie's Challenge Back section.
