The trail starts from the parking lot to the left of Homestead. You head down the dirt road until you see the trail intersection just past the corn field. The singletrack starts parallel to the stone wall with good flow and some three to five-foot drops. Continue along the winding downhill to about the two-mile mark, then turn uphill for a long, winding climb through some rock gardens and roots. You cross an old road twice so you can bail out to miss the big hill.

The second half is flowing singletrack with some other trails off of it and fairly level. Toward the end, there are a lot of roots. The trail is not well marked but well traveled. Be aware of hikers and horses.
