Overview

The ride follows the Air Line State Park Trail for a couple miles to access some sweet singletrack in the Salmon River Forest.

Description

This ride starts at the pond parking lot with a two-mile ride down the Air Line State Park Trail to a singletrack loop off the left side. Look for the third singletrack trail on the left (Trail 380845540). On your way up, take the first left and keep following the switchbacks until you get to a bedrock clearing at the top. Turn right and then, after a little, take a left that will take you through the tightest section of singletrack.

Follow the trail for a while through some really nice switchbacks—then take a right onto Pines to go down a steep section that will take you back to the Air Line State Park Trail. Cross-over and get back into the trail on the other side. Keep following the trail, turning right and down the hill.

At the bottom, there will be a sharp right turn that will start your climb back up to the top. The first hill is really steep—a hiking section for most. Keep following the trail up the hill and you'll eventually end up back at the Air Line State Park Trail. Turn left and grind your way back to the pond—it's slightly uphill the rest of the way–a good spot to grind it!
