Overview

The most popular entry point onto the trail system is from the corner of Sherman and Tinkham Roads at the southwest corner of the School Forest. There are several parking spots there if you are driving.

Need to Know

Watch for disc golfers on their section (we try to stay out of there during the day in the summer, but ride it at night and all winter) and slow down for hikers on wider paths.

Description

After about 100 yards on a wide path, you'll come to a well-marked intersection where the singletrack begins. The trail is smooth and winds over a small knoll and crosses three different walking paths before coming to the first split in the trail. On your left is a 1.8-mile loop that can be ridden in either direction and has everything including tight, twisty sections, wide open stretches and a small piece of bench cut trail.

Once you've completed this loop, you continue north on the main trail for a few hundred yards and will come to another loop on your left. This loop is relatively flat and short but still fun.

Back on the main trail, you'll climb a small hill that overlooks Bryant Road which you'll be crossing shortly. After crossing the road you'll come to a "Y" intersection. Either direction rides equally well and is 1.8 miles of long sweeping corners on gently rolling terrain.

If you're looking for more riding after that, you can do everything in the opposite direction and will end up with about 10 miles and/or you can jump on the roads for about 1.5 miles and check out the trails at Cartier Park.
