Description

The Wyoming Trail is an excellent high country route traveling through endless alpine meadows. It's great in either direction starting from either Buffalo or Rabbit Ears pass.

Start the route as doubletrack on the north side of Dumont Lake heading generally northwest. The trail transitions to singletrack and parallels Base Camp Rd. After the initial section of rolling terrain, stay left at the campground road and then keep straight at all intersections to the next section of the route.

From here, begin a fun, twisty descent that ends at a creek and then transitions up a steep climb and technical descent to Fishhook Lake. After riding along the east side of the lake, continue climbing to intersection with Trail #1102 (left towards Steamboat Ski area) continue straight on Wyoming Trail towards Buffalo Pass doubletrack

Options to continue: stay straight for Buffalo Pass (Doubletrack/ohv trail). Or turn left and connect with either Mountain View (and Steamboat Ski Area) or Fish Creek Falls.
