Description

The Annandale Trail provides a connection from Annandale Road (the trail's namesake) to the Bluff Line Trail in the Land Trust of North Alabama's Monte Sano Preserve. Although the trail is not terribly difficult for a skilled mountain biker, it does feature a few short harder sections.

Since there is no official trailhead at the trail's Annandale Road terminus, it is most commonly accessed by the general public from the Bluff Line Trail. It starts on the Bluff Line Trail just before its steep ascent towards the High Trail and the South Monte Sano Trailhead. However, the Annandale Trail is almost completely rideable, although somewhat rocky in places; it has very little elevation change. There are technical features around the intersection with the extremely difficult (and mostly unrideable) Waterline Trail, at about the halfway point.

A spring and waterfall is located near the end of the trail, just before it intersects with the Flourish Trail. The Flourish Trail is not recommended for mountain biking, although mountain bikes are allowed on all of the trails on the Land Trust side of Monte Sano. Most of the waterfalls on Monte Sano are on the Land Trust side of the mountain, although a few notable ones are in the State Park.
