Overview

This is a flat, dry, cross-country singletrack route right in Redmond. Overall not technical, but with a few small lava rock obstacles that keep things fun and interesting.

Description

Follow Maple Street east toward the recycling center and past the golf course. There will be a fork and you want to keep straight (right on that), which keeps you heading east on Maple.

The BMX track and parking are on the left (north) side as your drive out Maple. The trail starts at the far north side of the parking lot, to the right of the baseball/softball field and to the left of the BMX track.

The trail is singletrack, and it does have markings at a few of the intersections, but all routes are fairly short (about 3.5 miles to do full loop plus the Hotshot Spur or Bobber Loop cutoffs) so it's tough to really get lost. Rideing clockwise seems to be what is suggested. The loop heads north at first. It finishes to the south end of the BMX track and right along Maple Street.

Most of it is packed and dry, with occasional sand. There are several small areas of minor technical lava rock on small climbs and descents. These areas are very fun and keep the trail interesting. They won't be particularly exciting for a high-level rider.

The BMX track is open to bikes and one can ride in it as well, which is a very cool addition to this small Radlands ride as you can practice pump track skills and jumps.
