A fun, forested singletrack providing a tease of the many rides west of Bend, OR.

Katy Ryan

Overview

NW Forest pass required. Park at the turn off to Conklin Rd, just passed Seventh Mountain Resort.
This is a fun loop connecting a portion of the Storm King and COD trails. It is fun in both directions. It is heavily forested, so scenic horizon views are minimal. But you'll find an excellent trail system with technical (large lava rock sections), banked turns, and lots of fun sections.

Description

This loop can be ridden in either direction, fun both ways.

Storm King: Beautiful, fun, flow trail that goes and goes. It's curvy, minor technical, and lots of it. Also, very shaded. Enjoy.

COD: Cash on Delivery, appropriately named. Fun flow trail, with plenty of technical obstacles. The trail is heavily forested, so scenic horizon views are minimal. But you'll find an excellent trail system with technical (large lava rock sections), banked turns, and lots of fun sections. Also, Dirty Pirate can be accessed from COD (definitely a challenging terrain park....not for the faint of heart.)

Awful smokey weather. Bad idea. Climb is tough at beginning. Serious technical sections on COD but awesome flow too. 10mi

Mostly Dry, Fallen Trees - We had an amazing time riding this loop today. There are some down trees but for the most part it’s clear. Enjoy!

Getting forecast...

I took this as an out-and-back so I lengthened it to 18 miles and skipped the1-2 miles of full-on gravel road of Conklin Rd (#41). I parked at the entrance to Storm King and rode the loop all the way until C.O.D. hits the Cascades Lakes freeway, then I turned around. I think (lower) Storm King coming back down was definitely a highlight. Watch the technical section at the lower end of C.O.D. Jul 12, 2015

Why the heck does the overview say "2:21 average time for 20.8 miles" when it's only a 10 mile ride? Confusing and misleading. Jun 30, 2016
