Need to Know

There is a parking fee at Little Scraggy Trailhead.

Description

Begin by parking a vehicle at Pine Valley Ranch Park. Consolidate bikes and riders into another car and drive to the! Little Scraggy Trail. Head west on the Colorado Trail for several miles. You'll pass intersections for the Shingle Mill Trail, Tramway Trail, and the Green Mountain Trail, but stay on the Colorado Trail. You'll eventually cross Road 543 near the Meadows Group Campground.

Continue in a westerly direction until you reach the intersection with the Redskin Creek Trail. Turn right onto it and you'll be heading in a more northerly direction, crossing Road 550. You'll eventually reach the trailhead for the Gashouse Trail. Turn left on it and ride until you reach the Miller Gulch Trail. Turn right and ride a short way to the intersection with the Strawberry Jack Trail. Turn left and ride it for a few miles until it interscets with the Buck Gulch Trail. Turn right and ride in a northerly direction until you reach Pine Valley Ranch Park. You'll see the lake to your right. Cross the North Fork of the South Platte River and turn to the right until you reach the parking lot.

Late spring is the best time to ride the Colorado Trail in Buffalo Creek... the trail does better with rain.
