The route is a mix of undulating jeep track with good surface, and challenging singletrack that will test your skills somewhat. Added to that you get to see beautiful forest with perhaps glimpses of wildlife, cherry and apple orchards and green rolling hills. In short a very enjoyable route on the outskirts of Maastricht.

The route starts at the roundabout in Gronsveld and from there follows a singletrack between orchards and fields. From there, the singletrack trail follows the contour of Trichterberg to join Dorreweg, a jeep track through the forest. The track then crosses the Eckelrade-Cadier/Keer tar road up to where it crosses the Duistersteeg. This singletrack will take you to Cadier en Keer. This trail is a singletrack with loose rocks and tree roots so watch out.

Once in Cadier/Keer you ride along a short piece of the N278 provincial road until you turn off on a jeep track between some houses. This track takes you through farmland outside Cadier/Keer, and back into the forest on Trichterberg. Once in the forest, the track becomes a single trail with lots of rocks, slippery sides and loose rocks. Follow the trail from there through the forest until you emerge back into the farm fields outside Gronsveld where you started.
