“An easy, family-friendly course that is nice for beginner riders looking to develop their skills.
”
Family Friendly
Easy, flat riding along the rim trail.
Need to Know
The site is managed by the Erie Metroparks, so it offers paved parking across Sandusky Clyde Road and has moderately maintained restroom facilities. The quarry is primarily utilized by area residents for hiking and walking, and will share the Quarry Rim Trail path with you. Inside of the quarry are no designed trails for flow, but have singletrack paths that cut through some features including short climbs, ramps, and drops, but nothing that is to intermediate or technical.
Description
The outer loop of the trail is a walking/biking path that is frequented by families and hikers and is a 2-mile loop that has no features. Riding down into the quarry has some additional trails and features that allow for practice or fun riding with very little flow sections.
The bottom of the quarry and its trails are primarily sand that make for tough riding but makes the jumps forgivable, and is ideal for beginner riding looking to hone their skills.
The trail may not be worthy of going out of the way to visit if a more formal singletrack is available in your area, but it can suit the needs of nearby riders looking to play around nearby.
