Description

Punchy climbs, narrow trails, and hike-a-bike.

This section of trail traverses above the Fruit Loops trail area, but represents totally different riding.

To access, ride to or park at the Bella Vista cul-de-sac, and begin climbing up the steep paved access road. This section is relentless and has grades up to 22%. From there you are greeted with steep and loose trail with tight switchbacks full of loose rocks. This section will be walked by majority of folks. After several switchbacks like this the trail does mellow out, but remains tight and a bit bushwacky. The middle section has several hike-a-bike bits as the trail camber falls off into the gullies below or large rocks block the trail (or both). The descent from there is steep and smile filled, but nothing stellar. You are grabbing a lot of rear brake and sliding more than descending in control.

Trail will spit you out at the North end of the Fruit Loops area near Bair Canyon. Options to connect from there.
