Description
The Puppy Loop is as it name dictates, for beginners in my opinion. That doesn't mean it isn't fun for intermediate riders to really turn and burn on. There are four trails here that all start at the same trailhead.
This trail runs clockwise so you'll take a left to get started. It is smooth hard packed dirt with one tiny obstacle (a pipe ramp-which can be gone around). I would say the trail has only about 5% roots which is great for Texas; it is a smooth ride through open prairie and the other half of trail is through wooded areas.
The trail is a little under two miles long, so it's a really good beginner trail that is actually quite pretty.
Moderately steep. Uneven terrain with small rocks or roots.
Sizable rocks & roots. Steep sections.
Steep. Some technical terrain and limited alternate lines.
Very steep. Technical terrain with no alternate lines.
