Description

This forest road screams down from the crown of Monte Calamita towards Punta di Buzzancone, which is a small promontory on the coast of Elba facing the Italian mainland. You'll lose 250 m (820 ft) in 1.5 miles and there is no intervening climb to break up the fun descent.

The route is heavily forested, so you don't have much of a view from the road, but with the speed you'll likely pick up on the way down, you'll want to pay attention to the route.

You could climb this trail by parking near Capoliveri and taking the eastern coastal road to Punta di Buzzancone, but it's a difficult climb and so much more pleasant to access the trail using the Monte Calamita Sud forest road, making this part of the Monte Calamita loop ride.
