Description

On Ice Cream Hill Trail #1b, you'll circle Ice Cream Hill. The trail doesn't go to the summit (maybe that is where they keep the ice cream?), but you'll still have a substantial climb regardless of whether you do this trail clockwise or counterclockwise.

The trail character is narrow singletrack on loose limestone lined with cactus similar to the Spring Branch Trail you'll have to use for access. In either direction, there are a number of large steps, which coupled with the steepness will mean that most people walk much of this trail. This trail also doesn't seem to get used as much as the others, so the cacti lining the trail are particularly rough on your shins.

Maybe the name simply means you've earned an ice cream if you manage to clean the trail?
