Description

Back Nine is the primary climbing trail at Craig Wood, providing access to the awesome Poppa Wheelie, 19th Hole, and Air & Stone trails. From the junction with Jackrabbit Trail (AKA Craigwood Trails Connector), the trail climbs gradually along a slightly rooty tread on its way to Poppa Wheelie. At one point, the trail makes a tricky climb up an S-turn covered in slippery, obliquely angled roots. Once through this section, the trail is significantly easier as it climbs up through more forested terrain to reach an opening along a grassy corridor complete with a large berm (if you head back down this section, this berm can be a total blast).

Off the corridor and back into the forest, the trail tackles more roots through a flatter section of trail. Soon, the grade picks up again as you approach the first junction with Air & Stone (near here, keep you eyes peeled for the awesome, huge rock drop on the hill to your right). Continuing on, the trail traverses more of the same until reaching its end in a 3-way junction with Air & Stone and 19th Hole.
