Description

Ninemile Divide is a primitive route that follows a long series of ridges. It starts near Stark Mountain on the southern end and heads northwest to the Devil's Creek drainage, passing Lookout Mountain along the way.

You'll experience a variety of different experiences along the trail, from stands of lodgepole pine to large meadows of beargrass and huckleberry patches. There are also plenty of sweeping views of the surrounding mountains to amplify the backcountry experience.

The tread ranges from smooth dirt to chunky slide rock depending on where you are along the route.

Ninemile Divide is likely to be narrow and and overgrown in places. There's usually at least a faint track to keep you following the trail.
