Burnt Tree Ridge is a lollipop trail starting at the east trailhead to Glenwood Canyon. Head through the gate on the north side of the parking lot to access the trail and nearby Glenwood Canyon Overlook. The old doubletrack road is closed to vehicles except for the grazing lease holder.

After 0.4 miles of climbing, the road will fork. Burnt Tree Ridge is the right fork.

The next mile or so of climbing is brutally steep, but thereafter lets up significantly. A stock pond will be on your left at 1.8 miles. This is the point to which the trail will loop back to. For now, stay to the right.

At 2.1 miles, East Burnt Tree goes off to the right. Check this out if you are really adventurous.

After climbing through the oak brush, you'll have one more short, brutal climb before hitting the high point at 3.0 miles. Here, look for a faint trail off to the left. This may be hard to pick out at times but it generally follows the ridge line.

After a bit of riding, you'll drop down into a draw and a more distinct doubletrack. Follow this doubletrack back to the main stem at the stock pond. Head back to the trailhead the same way you came up.
