Description

Derailed is most easily approached by climbing Camelbacks from Checkpoint 11. Continue up a slight climb to the left to reach the high-point at the top of an uphill turn.

From there, Derailed takes off with a pumping section and some small rollable-doubles. Well shaped berms and more pumps will carry riders through the trail to an optional rock booter. If you hit it correctly, you'll have a nice boost of speed through the rollers and the flat section beyond.

The trail stays mellow for a bit, but it's worth pedaling to keep your speed up for the occasional roller or jump. This is a great section for new riders to let go of the brakes and experiment cornering with minimal consequence. The trees here are tall and thin so light and visibility remain excellent.

Look for the remains of a crumpled teal vehicle to the right before Derailed's signature rock armored step-down. It's a fun sender, but it can also be rolled if riders stick to the middle of the takeoff. The fun pump-able speed keeps going as the trail wraps along the edge of a depression. Ahead, a pair of small table tops kick off a fast and playful descent that eventually levels out as the singletrack returns to the edge.

There's a very slight uphill climb before the trail transitions to a pleasant rolling traverse across the forest floor. The next descent is quite a treat as deep berms and optional kickers rush riders along. The jumps are still rollable, but a few are positioned such that riders would be better to hit them or skip them when barreling downhill.

The rest of the trail quickly works its way down to the access road. Watch out for some loose pebbles scattered around the final turns.

Sweeping berms, jumps, and lots of flow make Derailed a fun rip.

This optional, rollable step-down adds a dash of cayenne to Derailed's already spicy recipe.
