Spring and fall affect this trail with snow-melt and can create soft conditions.

Description

From the Monte Verde Trail, on the southwest end of the lake, veer around the corner on Alpine Lake Way Road and you'll find the trailhead on the left side of the road.

From here, simply follow the trail. Once you go through the National Forest gate, you'll stay to the left and cross a creek over an old bridge. From here, you'll go up the doubletrack climb and plateau out on a vista. Look for the trail on the right and go bombing down on a short but sweet descent back to the creek crossing.

This trail can also be accessed from the Lady Slipper Traverse trail, which is what locals are most apt to do.

Quite a bit of climbing; fun and slightly technical downhill parts
