A steady climb with a fast fun downhill, this ride makes use of two trails with a few connectors at the top.
Starting from a small parking area on the map or from a number of other areas in town, head up the common trail for both trails. This trail is all singletrack with some easier switchbacks and a couple up and downs.
From a marked interception, turn left down
Abrams Gulch. This starts off with a minor downhill section of singletrack. There are some minor turns and no significant obstacles. The trail then goes through a fence and over a small cattle grate.
From here, the next few miles follow doubletrack and steadily climb with the drainage off to the left. Eventually, you come to a small creek crossing. From that point on the doubletrack becomes much more steep. Some sections might require you to walk the bike.
After around 3-3.5 miles, there is a small unmarked single/doubletrack trail to the right. This will open to a road. Follow the open dirt road for a little under 1 mile. It's a pretty fast downhill road with one minimal climb.
Off to the right, there is a marked trail called
Reynolds Wrap Lower section. If you go too far you'll run into
Scratch, which will also connect over. Either way, you'll run into
Scratch trail and continue to take these to the right.
After passing by
World's Greatest on the left, follow a small sign that gives direction to
Abrams Ridge.
After leaving
Scratch, it starts off as a steep doubletrack road. Eventually, you meet a section where the real trail and fun starts, turning off to the right.
The downhill has many fun turns, a couple of small obstacles, and plenty of up and down rollers. There are a few areas that can get rutted out. This is all singletrack and the best part of the ride.
Look for the great views along the ridge and back to the start of the trail and the car.
