Part of the Natchez Trace State Park Trail System, the Nester Trail was once the go-to trail for night rides and instructional rides for beginners. Route can be difficult to follow in several places.

The winding trail passes through the eastern section of the park and is easily accessible from the main entrance. The well laid out trail passes through hardwood forests with frequent views of the lake. The trail is generally in close proximity to the road leading to the park, which is handy in the case of a mechanical failure or emergency.

White-tail deer, squirrels, armadillo, and other small woodland creatures are often seen along the trail. An old hand-dug well is hidden among the trees.

Access to the trail is immediately apparent off to the left once passing through the main entrance. The trail is ridden in the counter-clockwise direction and the reflective arrows marking the trail are easy to follow. There are some two-way sections on the trail, so keep an eye out for oncoming riders.

It's recommended to stay off the trail after heavy rains.
