Overview

This is a flat, easy and quick ride through the forest at Dwight D. Eisenhower Park that links up several trails in the park and can net a long ride from the Summerwood area.

Description

This ride combines park roads, doubletrack, and singletrack running through a "Seasonal Wetland." Quiet and unused during the week, this trail system is a great training ride from the Summerwood Community. However, these tracks can get quite muddy after a rain.

When starting at the parking lot just inside the entrance from Aqueduct Rd. on Eisenhower Pkwy., you can complete the park loop in a counter-clockwise spiral manner. First start on the San Jacinto Loop Trail and head to the top leg of the Copperhead Trail. Ride back onto Eisenhower Pkwy back up to restart the San Jacinto Loop Trail to the top leg of the Palmetto Trail, again hitting Eisenhower Pkwy to the San Jacinto Loop Trail to finish out the bottom leg of the Palmetto Trail. Once again ride Eisenhower Pkwy to catch the final power line section, and outer leg, of the San Jacinto Loop Trail. Take Walton Rd. where you pop out of the San Jacinto Loop Trail around the outer skirts of the Park to finish at the Aqueduct/Eisenhower parking lot.

There are seasonal wetlands beside the trail. This is what that looks like. The trail itself is usually dry.
