Description

This trail can be easily accessed from the park's internal parking lot or from a brief access trail on Kern Road. The orange blazes cross the parking lot and park access road, you may proceed in either direction.

Blazes are relatively well-kept and frequent. Double blazes mark major turns and points where you may intersect another trail or inadvertently take a detour.

Deer Lakes gives a decent challenge and mixture of up and down work - it is a hilly area with very few extended flats. Most climbs are neither particularly long or particularly steep, but expect to be climbing or descending constantly.

Lovely fall foliage, green summers, and wet spring and fall conditions - Deer Lakes Park is home to a number of natural springs, so there are some areas that never seem to dry out and hold their moisture for a very long time. Expect small patches of wet conditions/occasional mud.

Bring a four legged companion and a bag of Golf Discs and explore a fantastic - and long - local disc golf course.
