“A great year-round trail that holds up well after rain.
”
Part of the Trace State Park trail system, the Boat Ramp trail adds challenge for those wanting to rip through the woods. Year round pine straw cover on most of this trail facilitates year round ride-ability even after rainy weather. When included as a third leg of the Trace State Park Trails, this is icing on the cake for a fantastic day in the woods.
Boat Ramp is the more challenging mountain bike trail of this system and is often the choice for the ambitions local night group rides. The many elevation changes on this trail keep your level of effort high. There is an optional fire road that cuts through the middle of this section if you are interested in a shorter ride. The trail runs in close proximity to the camp grounds and can be easily linked to the Baker Trail for a few extra miles.
