Family Friendly This is a very easy trail suitable for new riders.

Description

Eleven trails, totaling about five miles, take walkers, cyclists and horseback riders through classic Sonoran Desert terrain where cactus flowers and blooming palo verde trees are adding colorful touches this spring.

The main trail passes through the Maeveen Behan Desert Sanctuary, named for a lawyer and visionary environmental planner who played a leading role in developing Pima Countys Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan.

The trail is hard pack with several wash crossings with dry sand. The trail is family friendly and is the perfect first ride for a new mountain biker. Unlike most Tucson trail there are very few rocks on the trail.

Locals use the trail for some before or after work quick training rides. Be aware of using the south side of the trail before or after the elementary school lets out. Many of the children use the trail to get to nearby neighborhoods.
