Description

Begin on top of Libby Flats. Approach junction from either the north end of FR336 at Hwy130 or from the south after having come up from either the Middle Fork, or French Creek drainage. The upper part is wide open alpine tundra and then descends along Libby Creek. Going to Bear Lake is not mandatory, but should not be missed. This is the only place to really cliff dive in the Snowy Range. It's also a beautiful picnic spot if the water is too cold for you. Also, there is a spur over to Silver Run Lake where excellent Brookie fishing can be found.

After Bear Lake, the trail diminishes quickly and can be hard to find for a little while. More use is making it easier, but there is about a half mile of true bushwhacking. There is a way to stay on your bike if you look hard or follow the GPX track exactly until the Libby Creek Trail is intersected.
