Description
Muggins Gulch Road is a straightforward dirt road climb between Tiger Road and the Colorado Trail just downhill from the
Red Trail junction. It permits some loop options incorporating
Galena Ditch Trail and the Colorado Trail below West Ridge.
The road is pretty boring, but it does traverse a picturesque meadow. The subdivider of the land is on the hook to build an entirely singletrack connection. Until this occurs, they are obligated to provide public access on the road.
Where Tiger Road passes through an S-curve crossing the Swan River, take a left on a dirt road. This is just beyond the gate and marker for an open space on the right of the road. Cross the Swan then continue to and around a gate.
Climb the road for 3/4 mile and take a left at a fork. Climb another 1/2 mile and take a left at an open space marker post. Ride a 500' long section of singletrack to the Colorado Trail. Left descends to Horseshoe Gulch, right climbs to
Red Trail and West Ridge.
