Overview

This is a short tour that barely scratches the surface of what's on offer at Fromme. That said, you're sure to be grinning from ear to ear upon finishing this ride and ready to pedal up for more. This loop links Seventh Secret to Expresso and the Baden Powell Trail for a gravity-fed bonanza.

Description

Start by pedailing up Mountain Highway, a monotonous road climb that's a necessary evil if you want to get to the goods! Take this time to chat with your riding buddies and enjoy the scenery - this is certainly not the most exciting part of the ride!

After seemingly endless pedal strokes on an unchanging road, get excited as you round the sixth switchback. Just a little further up, you'll come to the entrance for Seventh Secret on your right. Pad up, set your rig to full-squish and get ready to let'r'rip!

The trail starts with a steep, rocky roll-in that acts a filter for the trail. If this move makes you uncomfortable, think about trying one of Fromme's less ambitious trails. As you continue down the trail prepare yourself for some awkward, old-school corners that have been made semi-sustainable through heavy rick armoring.

Tight, awkward corners are broken up by fast-paced traversing singletrack. There are occasional (optional) skinnies and rock roll-over features. It's recommended to take a good look at any and all features that you're considering before attempting.

At the bottom of the trail, follow a little boardwalk out to the road. Turn right onto Mountain Highway and immediately look for the entrance to Expresso on your left.

As you drop in, you'll be greeted by fast-flowing singletrack at a moderate grade. As stated earlier, this is a newer build, so the trail doesn't just dive down the fall line. It zigs and zags its way through the lush North Shore forest inviting you to pin it. Every so often, you'll encounter a feature - be it a built wooden roll, a natural drop a nice whoop or a large rock rollover.

Most everything on this trail is easily rideable with the exception of a couple large rock rolls. As with other trails at Fromme, take a look before trying something new because it's probably a scary as it looks!

Finish on fast singletrack riddled with banked corners that rocket you onward. At the bottom, you'll pop out onto the Baden Powell Trail. Turn left on the Baden Powell Trail and settle into some XC grinding. The trail is technical and is a big change of pace form the downhill style trails that led you to this point. Eventually, the trail will drop rapidly toward the road. Rock armoring helps make this steep section less sketchy, but some will opt to walk the final portion of this trail.
