Upon entering the park, take the road to the left at the pay station. About 1/2 mile in is a small lot with a state park sign, this is the trailhead.

This trail is a nice ride, about 6.5 miles long with connectivity to the other trails in the park. Sugar Cane features flowing, sometimes fast singletrack, with little technicality throughout. There are a couple of small creek crossings, short but challenging uphills with a few downhills, and great scenery.

I tend to do the loop in a clockwise direction. During the summer months, the trail is dry, hard packed singletrack with a little of wet bottomland, lots of roots when into upper tree line, and small creek crossings to get wet in.

The park offers camping, a swimming area and plenty of water to enjoy.
