Overview

These are some of the best singletrack trails in Garrett County. These trails have been built for hiking & biking. They have great flow and technical sections that challenge your skills.

Need to Know

Once across the bridge on the Green Trail, the climb and ride out to the Beige Trail is the most difficult section in the park. Padding up when ridding Fork Run is never a bad idea. If you have a fall it will most likely be on rock, and if momentum is lost, a dynamic header is always a possibility.

Description

Access Fork Run area at the gravel road off of Shingle Camp Rd near the intersection of Oakland Sang Run Rd.

The ride starts with the Red Trail which begins at the gravel path leading into the woods from the parking lot. At the first intersection, veer right to stay on the Red Trail. Stay right again as you see the Yellow Trail that would continue back to the parking lot. After the second right, the trail gets fun as you ride slightly up hill with a few quick downhill flowy sections. As the trail comes out on to the gravel road look for the Green Trail straight ahead.

After crossing the gravel road, descend this quick flowy section on the Green Trail, which brings you to the bridge crossing over Fork Run. Keep some speed up across the bridge as the rock garden at the other side requires some speed to navigate it successfully. Once through the rock garden, stay straight. This trail has some more technical rock sections and a few climbs that will get your legs going.

Continue on to Beige Trail. The start of this trail is uphill as you finish the climb from the green trail. Once on top, the trail has good flow as it twist and turns through ferns and forest. The end of this trail has a sharp left turn back on to the Green Trail and across the bridge. Continue up the climb and use the Red Trail to head back towards the Parking Area.

Look for Yellow Trail to break off to the right just before the parking lot and follow it. This section completes the ride of the Fork Run Trails back to your car. Its very easy with no rocky areas.
