Description

Straight Mountain Trail begins on US Hwy 58 and climbs an old road bed over a ridge. The trail then descends into a fishing lake at the Beartree Recreation Area. Straight Mountain is not very technical and it never gets very steep. It's no small effort to climb up the overgrown and often tree crossed trail, however. The northern side of the ridge has a beautiful forest floor of ferns and the descent drops you right into a really nice lake with restroom facilities and water.
