September '22, Adams Gulch TH CLOSED for reconstruction.

Overview

Much of the riding in the Adam's Gulch area is quite difficult with steep climbs and descents, but these trails stick to the easy stuff. Beginners should find this to be a great introduction to the trails in the area.

There are plenty of options to add on some more challenging stuff - try riding up Eve's Gulch and tacking on Forbidden Fruit Flow Trail for a bit more spice.

Description

Start out at the popular Adam's Gulch trailhead and head out on Lane's / Sunnyside Trail. This is a mellow cruise through the wildflowers and grasses of the Adams Gulch area, this trail traverses the hillside at a comfortable grade. Lane's Trail is multi-use, keep an eye out for hikers and dog walkers.

Next, look for Citizens Trail - this short, easy cruise has great views and excellent wildflowers early in the season. At the end of Citizens, take a left, and you'll ride a very short section of Griffin Butte Connector before taking another left to merge onto the end of Eve's Gulch trail. Although these trails are marked as intermediate, you'll be on short, easy sections.

Look for a turn to the right on Shadyside Trail. This smooth, flowy, singletrack cruise is a mellow descent most of the way with a few short climbs along the way. It offers pleasant shade in the mid-summer heat, and has a few roots along the way to keep things interesting, but nothing major.

After 1.7 miles on Shadyside, you'll come to an obvious intersection - make a sharp left turn to continue downhill, and blast a few hundred yards back down to the trailhead.
