Description

Arguably the fastest trail of the four due to fewer roots, fewer rocks, and not too many tight turns compared to the other three. Only drawback is that since this is an out-and-back, so you have to pay attention for oncoming traffic. Combine the speed of the trail with many blind corners, and you've really got to pay attention to avoid a crash with another biker. Don't let that scare you however, it's not a crowded trail. On a weekday you may encounter none to three riders, and on a weekend none to maybe six.

This trail probably has the 2nd best views of the lake, 1st easily being the Orange trail which is immediately north of the Blue. There are also several scenic ravines that you traverse that are filled with large rocks and provide views to the lake. About 2.75 miles in, you'll see an option to take a bypass. If you do not take the bypass, you'll hit a steep yet short descent that shouldn't be a problem for your average mountain biker.

It's the climb back up that I would love to see somebody make. Regardless, it's a very short and easy hike-a-bike section. If you don't want to unclip, take the bypass. Once you break 3 miles, you'll come up to the turnaround loop which will give you a half mile break of having to worry about any oncoming traffic.
