Like the other trails at Versailles State Park, Grandview Loop can be ridden in either direction. There are rocks and technical parts, but this ride is characterized by its climbs and its descents.
You have two choices: Ride it counter-clockwise and reach the long, flowing downhill first. Then a bit later, do the climb which is a rocky service road section that isn't a whole lot of fun (but is relatively short). Your other option is to ride it clockwise and have a rocky service road descent which is followed by a longer grind uphill.
If you want a fun downhill, I say ride it counter-clockwise. If you are doing hill workouts, then do it clockwise.
On hot summer days, you'll notice that the trail can be breezy and comfortable on top of the bluffs, yet stifling in the valleys. It will make you want to work hard to find the breeze again.
