Description

Rippey Canyon is most commonly ridden downhill from Rippey Spring.

The upper section of trail curves though Alder and tall sage and the tight vegetation will be grasping for your handlebars. The trail is covered with grass here and seems to run out at a shallow spring. Cross to the east side and continue down where the trail gets better and better.

Grass covered trail gives way to sidehill, short very steep pitches, and loose gravel.

When the trail crosses a shallow stream, look for a cairn at the Rippey Loop trail. Go left across the stream again to get back to the Barracks Trailhead or straight to continue on toward Baker Creek Trail.
